Susanne Shields teaches German language and culture courses at the Lauder Institute where she specializes in Advanced Language teaching and Business German for professional purposes.

In addition to her Lauder Institute duties, Susanne has taught advanced undergraduate courses on aspects of German culture, society and politics like ‘Germany and the European Union’ and ‘Foreign in Germany’. Since the fall of 2013, she has taught a Freshman Seminar ‘Euro Zone Crisis – The EU in a Currency War for Survival?’

She holds a Staatsexamen in Education from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universität in Frankfurt am Main, Germany (1977), a Master`s degree in German Literature from Pennsylvania State University (1986) and a Ph.D. degree in German Literature from Penn (1996).
