As Penn’s Guide to Academic Integrity maintains, academic honesty makes scholarship within and across disciplines possible. Faculty and instructors can help instill this core value in their students, both by exemplifying integrity and by employing methods that encourage honest practices. In this workshop, Dr. Christina Frei, Executive Director of Language Instruction in the School of Arts and Sciences, will help us develop strategies to promote academic integrity in our classrooms. This workshop will specifically address ways to:

·        clearly articulate expectations and resources for students

·        create assessments in a way that discourages cheating, plagiarism, and improper collaboration

·        identify and appropriately respond to academic dishonesty when it occurs
