From the archives, a class on different communities of Jews in China

Teaching a class on the Jews in China, Prof. Kathryn Hellerstein created an opportunity for her first-year seminar students to study archival material from a collection donated to the Penn Libraries by her mentor, Israeli scholar Irene Eber. “I believe that this experience highlights the importance of diversity and cross-cultural communication in a scholarly setting,” says Nancy (Ziqi) An, a College of Arts and Sciences freshman from Beijing.
