Professor Emeritus Frank Trommler's September 2017 talk at the 50th anniversary of the Wisconsin Workshop, titled "Back to the Future: Tradition and Innovation in German Studies," recently appeard in the volume Back to the Future: Tradition and Innovation in German Studies, ed. Marc Silberman (Oxford: Lang, 2018), 251-61.The piece integrates discussions about French Studies to compare and give context to the history and future of German Studies.
