Join us for a screening of the 2018 film Wackersdorf about the true story of local protests against the construction of a nuclear reprocessing plant in 1980s Bavaria. Penn Professor and German Department Chair Dr. Simon Richter will introduce the film, after which he will lead a discussion with its director, Oliver Haffner. This event is presented by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung, organized by the Penn Program in Environmental Humanities, and supported by the Penn's Cinema and Media Studies program and the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures.
